Celebrate Fine Brother's
A Ubuntu Village "FUN" Raiser
Washington DC-
May 14, 2007
3 years ago, the visionary principal
members of
Ubuntu Village (Candace & Oyamiwa) decided it was
high time that we acknowledged all of the beautiful
"Fine Brother's" in our life so we decided to create a
day
to specifically remember, honor and acknowledge
all
the "Fine Brother's".
MEN,
If you are reading this, CONSIDER YOURSELF A FINE
BROTHER and FEEL THE LOVE!
LADIES,
Join us in this movement of the 3rd annual
celebration
of black men by
telling a great guy "Happy Fine Brother's day",
take him out to dinner or buy him a gift and
definitely pass the word along to your friends.
Also we encourage
you to email us a
paragraph or two about a "fine brother" you know.
Photos would be appreciated but are not required but
names are. We will
acknowledge selected "Fine Brother's in a upcoming
issue of the Ubuntu Village Update and you may even
win a dinner for two in a random drawing!
Submissions must be received by midnight on May
14th!
WHAT IS A "FINE BROTHER"?
A fine brother may have a head full of locks, a wild
fro,
short curls, a fade or a head as smooth as a newborn.
A fine brother looks good dressed in a suit, sweats,
linen and
prints or simply a towel.
A fine brother looks you deep in the eye and has a
smile that
makes your heart skip, flip and hop a beat.
A fine brother cooks a meal from scratch while you sit
back and
watch.
A fine brother dances salsa, hip-hop, house or just the
two step.
It doesn't matter. A fine brother dances.
A fine brother holds out his hand to help you out the
car, up the
stairs or to the bedroom.
A fine brother doesn't send you flowers he picks them
A fine brother doesn't buy a card he makes one.
A fine brother creates music with his own voice, a
piano or a
drum and puts his heart and soul in it.
A fine brother has a body that you just can't take your
eyes off.
A fine brother has a body that you just can't take your
hands
off.
A fine brother has a body that makes you (oooh -
shut your
mouth!.lol)
A fine brother remembers birthdays, first days and
gets creative
with his own days.
A fine brother writes his own poetry or recites an
obscure
passage from the Song of Solomon.
A fine brother doesn't wait to escort you to a church,
temple or
a mosque, he inhabits a divine spirit every day and
gives thanks to
the creator at every opportunity.
A fine brother smells good. (plain & simple)
A fine brother listens as well as talks and shares his
heart and soul.
A fine brother tells you he loves but more importantly
shows you
he loves you.
Fine brothers come in all shapes and sizes. They
come from all
backgrounds. Fine brothers may even be broke.
Note:
(Fine brothers
with no money and can't take care of basic needs
diminish in
fineness.)
.
May 14th, 2005 was the first annual "FINE
BROTHERS DAY."
Monday, May 14th, 2007 is the 3rd annual fine
brothers day and how fitting that it would fall on the day
after Mothers Day
because without beautiful mothers, there would be no
fine brothers!
CELEBRATE FINE
BROTHERS EVERY DAY!
